Security Tip #3
Whilst visually appealing and great for privacy & shade, consideration needs to be given to the potential security risk of your landscape.
Large gardens near windows and entries can also be privacy for a potential criminal wanting to break into your home.
Things like trees, bins and kids play equipment can provide a make shift ladder to get over fences.
Garden ornaments should be considered as well when landscaping, as these are potential projectiles for criminals to break windows.
Lighting is very important too. Spending time and money on good lighting could well and truly save you on a night time break and enter. Motion tripped lighting is fantastic.
One last tip whilst we are discussing your outdoors, keeping your grass mowed and junk mail cleared, eliminates the opportunist criminal who thinks you may have gone away. A bonus in the winter months with trimmed grass and dew, is you can see if anyone has been walking around your property.
